Jim has led User Experience, support, and analytics teams in many different business models:

  • Centralized model (one UX group supporting the whole company )
  • Distributed model (one UX group per business unit)
  • Functional model (each specialized discipline has its own group with individuals assigned to separate teams)
  • Hybrid model (centralized UX group supports distributed UX teams)
  • Internal consultancy or design firm model (product teams hire the UX organization on a project basis)

No one model works in all situations. Understanding when to implement which model requires strategic flexibility. Jim's teams have:
