To ensure UX teams have a strong voice early and throughout the product development cycle, it is critical to insert user-centered design milestones in the development process. With a firm grasp of how to drive great design in virtually any environment, Jim has a successful track record of driving UCD milestones into development. This has included inserting such milestones into Engineering and IT lifecycles, both in traditional and Agile methods. The diagrams on the left illustrate a couple of examples.

Discovery Workshops: One of the key process innovations developed by Jim’s team is Discovery Workshops and Innovation Workshops. These workshops help synthesize customer requirements with technology capabilities to meet user needs in the most innovative fashion possible. Findings from user research provide context to requirements and technological constraints. The results from these workshops feed Requirements Documents, Functional Specifications, and User Interface Specifications.
