Informing Business CouncilsSponsorship is critical for any organization. Jim has found many ways to gain sponsorship, but the most important is helping business teams achieve significant growth. One such business team- an executive council- engaged his team to conduct ethnographic research and a comparative analysis. The result was a financial model that this council used for two years. Solutions included a config tool that simplified deployment of a complex solution, personas to catalyze a common understanding of users, and verified solution bundles. These bundles decreased customer choices from 1.5 million to 7. They simplified ordering for both products and services. In addition, Jim sat as a member of this executive council, which laid the groundwork for one set of UI standards and component libraries that his team built. As a member of this council, which included five SVPs, Jim got agreement that the Experience itself is the next Advanced Technology, and is worth billions of dollars. | |
